High-crystallinity vein graphite from the Ragedara mine, Sri Lanka — the only commercial source of natural vein graphite on Earth. Available in 80 to 99.5% purity, custom particle sizes from 3 µm to 3 mm. Minimum 20-tonne bulk orders shipped FOB Colombo.
Sri Lankan vein graphite — historically traded as Ceylon graphite — is geologically unique. Formed over millions of years as carbon precipitated from hydrothermal fluids deep in the Earth's crust, it achieves natural purities of 90–99.5% Cg without the acid purification required for flake graphite.
This is not a quality difference of degree — it is a difference of kind. Higher crystallinity means superior electrochemical performance in batteries, more effective lubrication at extreme temperatures, and cleaner graphene synthesis with fewer metallic contaminants.
Our Sourcing StoryFrom industrial-grade G-80 refractory material to ultra-pure G-99.5 graphene precursor — all sourced from the same Ragedara mine and available in custom particle sizes.
Refractory bricks, foundry additives, carbon brushes, steel plant linings.
Lubricants, conductive coatings, EMI shielding, EDM, brake pads, gaskets.
Li-ion battery anodes, graphene precursor, nuclear applications, advanced composites.
Graphene synthesis, semiconductor processing, nuclear reactors. Highest available natural purity.
High-crystallinity vein graphite delivers superior Li-ion intercalation capacity and rate performance for EV and energy storage batteries.
Sublimes above 3600°C. Indispensable in steelmaking crucibles, ladle linings, continuous casting nozzles and carbon-magnesite bricks.
Ultra-pure feedstock for graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide production via the Hummers method. Fewer metallic contaminants than lower-grade sources.
Effective dry lubrication from −200°C to over 500°C. Outperforms amorphous graphite in brake linings, metal forming and precision bearings.
High electrical conductivity (4–8 × 10⁴ S/m) at lower loadings than amorphous grades. Used in automotive, aerospace and defence enclosures.
Graphene oxide derived from our ultra-pure feedstock enables molecular-level separation in desalination, pharmaceutical filtration and gas separation.
China imposed export licence requirements on graphite in October 2023, creating supply chain risk for European manufacturers. Sri Lankan vein graphite is entirely outside China's export control framework — with a documented supply history stretching back to the 18th century. Read our supply security overview →
